The formula
Choose the answer you need. Lunch return adds 45 minutes to the break start. Clock-out adds required work plus a fixed 45-minute unpaid lunch to the counted start. Net hours subtracts 45 minutes from the shift span. Times that pass midnight automatically continue into the next day.

Add 45 minutes to the time your lunch starts. For example, a lunch that starts at 12:15 PM ends at 1:00 PM.
Forty-five minutes equals 0.75 hours in decimal time because 45 divided by 60 is 0.75.
An unpaid 45-minute lunch extends the workday by 45 minutes. A paid lunch is normally already included in paid time and should not be added again.
Yes. A lunch return or clock-out after midnight is labeled as the next day, and net-hours mode treats an earlier clock-out value as the following day.
Some flex schedules only begin counting work at a stated opening time. When you enable this option, the clock-out estimate uses the later of your actual clock-in and the earliest counted start you enter.
