How this calculator works

Net day = clock-out − clock-in − unpaid lunch; overtime = weekly hours above your chosen threshold

Each day is calculated separately, then added to its seven-day week. In biweekly mode, the overtime threshold is applied to each week instead of treating the full 14 days as one 40-hour week. The split is for planning only and does not determine payroll or legal eligibility.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate work hours with an unpaid lunch break?

Find the time from clock-in to clock-out, then subtract the unpaid lunch. For example, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM is 8 hours 30 minutes; after a 30-minute unpaid lunch, the net total is 8 hours.

Can this time card calculator handle overnight shifts?

Yes. When clock-out is earlier than clock-in, the calculator carries clock-out into the next day and labels the row as overnight.

How does overtime work in biweekly mode?

The selected threshold is applied separately to each seven-day week. With a 40-hour threshold, weeks of 40 and 42 hours produce 80 regular hours and 2 overtime hours for planning purposes.

Does the calculator save my time card?

Yes. Your period, threshold and entries are saved locally in this browser. You can clear them at any time, and the data is not tied to an account.
